Extremely Concise Practices of Sanctifying Incense [Sang] and Golden Beverage Offerings [Serkyem]

First go for Refuge and generate the Awakening Mind (of bodhicitta). Then recite the Root Mantras of the Meditation Deities (yi-dam), such as the Vajra Guru [Mantra], as much as possible. After that, purify with:

RAṂ YAṂ KHAṂ

[Tibetan pronunciation:

RANG YANG KHANG]

Transform into ambrosial nectar (amṛta) with:

OṂ ĀH HŪṂ

[Tibetan pronunciation:

OṂ ĀH HŪNG]

Doing the Sky Treasury Mantra (gnam mkha’ mdzod kyi sngags) as a preliminary, the Extremely Concise Offering of Sanctifying Incense (bsang shin tu bsdus pa), imbued with the blessing of the Awakened Speech of Zh’adéu Śrī Gyels’ay T’rulshik Dongak Lingpa (Terchen Trulzhik Dongak Lingpa, zhwa de’u shrii rgyal sras ‘khrul zhig mdo sngags gling pa), is as follows:

JUNG-NGA NAM-DAK YUM GYI KHA

The utterly pure five elements, the Space of the Mother,

YÉ-SHEY NGA-DEN SANG-CH’Ö DI

This offering of Sanctifying Incense, imbued with the Five Deep Wisdoms:

P’UL-WAY P’UNG-NGA’Y DRIP-TS’OK KÜN

By offering it, may all accrued obscurations of the five aggregates be consecrated;

SANG NAY KU-NGA NGÖN-GYUR SHOK

And thereby, may the Five Bodies of Awakening (kāyas) be actualized.

The Unelaborate Extremely Concise Golden Beverage Offering (spros med gser skyems shin tu bsdus pa), imbued with the blessings of the Awakened Speech of Zh’adéu T’rulshik Nga’wang Ch’ökyi Lodrö Rinpoché (Trulzhik Rinpoché, zhwa de’u khrul zhig ngag dbang chos kyi blo gros rin po che), is as follows:

OṂ: NANG-S’IY DÖ-NAY NAM-DAK DAM-TS’IK DZAY

O: Appearance and existence, utterly pure from the beginning, is filled to the brim with the substances of Sacred Commitment (samaya),

RANG-NANG YÉ-SHEY DÖ-GÜ KHYÖN GANG GYUR

Self-manifesting deep wisdom, and all that is desired.

ĀH: RAP-JAM KU-SUM CH’Ö-S’UNG GYA’M-TS’O’I DRÖN

ĀH: The infinite array of the Three Kāyas, the guests of the ocean of Dharma Guardians,

DAM-YÉ YER-MEY LONG DU GYEY-PAR ZHUK

Abide in delight within the expanse of the inseparability of the Samayasattva and Jñānasattva.

HŪNG: TSA-WA SUM DANG LEK-DEN CH’AK ZHI-PA

: The Three Roots, Excellent Mahākāla [Lekden], Four-Armed Mahākāla [Chak Zhipa],

MA-NING ZHEL-ZHI NGAK-S’UNG LHA-CH’EN ZA

Androgynous Mahākāla [Maning], Four-Faced Mahākāla [Zhel Zhipa], the Mantra Guardian [Ekajaṭī], Mahādeva, Rāhula,

NAM-S’AY DUR-T’RÖ LHA-MO SENG-GÉ’I DONG

Vaiśravaṇa, the Goddess of the Charnel Ground, Lion-Faced Ḍākinī,

DÉ-PÖN P’UR-S’UNG TEN-MA TS’É-RING CH’EY

The Commander Kīla Guardian, the Subterranean Goddesses, the Sisters of Long Life;

MEN DOR GYEL TSEN ZHI-DAK GYA’M-TS’O LA

To the ocean of Medicine Queens, Vajrasādhus, King Spirits, Haunting Ghosts and Grounds Masters,

GYEY-GU’I CH’I-NANG CH’Ö-TRIN GYA’M-TS’Ö CH’Ö

I make gifts of the ocean of outer and inner offering-clouds of myriad pleasing things;

SANG-SUM YÖN-TEN T’RIN-LAY GYA’M-TS’OR TÖ

I make praises to the ocean of Awakened Qualities and Activities of the Three Secrets:

DAM KONG NONG SHAK T’RIN-LAY GYA’M-TS’O DRUP

May our commitments be fulfilled, our faults confessed, and the ocean of Awakened Activity accomplished.

The Concise Golden Beverage Offering to the Eight Classes [of Dharma Protectors] (sde brgyad gser skyems bsdus pa), imbued with the blessing of the Awakened Speech of Düdjom Jikdrel Yéshey Dorjé (Düdjom Rinpoché, bdud ‘joms ‘jigs med ye shes rdo rje), is as follows:

KÖN-CH’OK SUM DANG TSA-SUM CH’Ö-KYONG TS’OK

The Three Supreme Gems, the Three Roots, the assemblies of Dharma Protectors,

CH’I-YI DÉ-GYAY NANG-GI DÉ-GYAY DANG

The outer Eight Classes, the inner Eight Classes,

SANG-WA’Y DÉ-GYAY CH’OK-GI DÉ-GYAY DANG

The secret Eight Classes, the supreme Eight Classes,

TRUL-PA’Y DÉ-GYAY NANG-S’IY DÉ-GYAY SOK

The incarnated Eight Classes, the Eight Classes of appearance and existence and so on,

TRUL-PA YANG-TRUL KA-DÖ DREN-YOK CHAY

Together with their emanations, re-emanations, attendants, subjects and servants:

DIR SHEK SER-KYEM TOR-MA’Y CH’Ö-BUL ZHEY

Come here, and accept the presented offerings of Golden Beverage and Torma;

T’ÜN-KYEN SAM-DÖN DRUP LA GEL-KYEN DOK

Establish conducive circumstances and aspired aims, while dispelling adverse conditions,

RAP-JAM T’RIN-LAY MA-LÜ YONG-DRUP DZÖ

Ensure thorough accomplishment of the infinite array of Awakened Activities;

KA DANG DAM LAY MA-DA SA-MA-YA

And do not transgress the commands and commitments: SAMAYA.

And thus, so it was that this Extremely Concise Golden Beverage Offering, which is imbued with the blessing of the Awakened Speech of the Great Tertön who was prophesied, Zh’adéu Śrī Gyels’ay T’rulzhik Dongak Lingpa (Terchen Trulzhik Dongak Lingpa, zhwa de’u shrii rgyal sras ‘khrul zhig mdo sngags gling pa), T’rulzhik Nga’wang Ch’ökyi Lodrö (Trulzhik Rinpoché, ‘khrul zhig ngag dbang chos kyi blo gros), and Düdjom Jikdrel Yéshey Dorjé (Düdjom Rinpoché, bdud ‘joms ‘jigs bral ye shes rdo rje), was published by the Lineage Holder (gdung ‘dzin) of Māratika, Nga’wang Jikdrel Chökyi Wangchuk (ngag dbang ‘jigs bral chos kyi dbang phyug).
